Kuala Lumpur, 11 September 2024 – Institut Sultan Iskandar (ISI), together with CWI Services, successfully conducted the one-day training program titled “Rules of Drawing and Interpreting Welding Symbols” at UTM Hotel & Residence, Kuala Lumpur. Led by Eur Ing Ts. Chen Fun Wee, the session catered to 10 participants.
The program focused on enhancing practical skills in drawing and interpreting welding symbols according to AWS A2.4 and ISO 2553 standards. The participants, all equipped with basic welding knowledge, engaged in hands-on training designed to translate theoretical knowledge into practical expertise.
The session kicked off at 8:30AM, covering key topics, including understanding elementary and supplementary welding symbols, deciphering weld locations, and interpreting broken arrow lines. In the afternoon, the Welding Symbol Interpretation Challenge allowed participants to apply their knowledge in interactive, team-based tasks that reinforced critical concepts.
Before receiving their certificates, participants were required to complete a final assessment to evaluate their understanding of the welding symbols rules and practical applications. Successfully passing this assessment was mandatory to ensure they had acquired the skills necessary for certification.
The day concluded with a Certificate Award Ceremony, acknowledging the achievements of the participants.
