Strategic Management for Building Defects

 Introduction

The Strategic Management for Building Defects module equips participants with the knowledge to develop effective maintenance strategies and make informed decisions regarding building defects. The first syllabus, Building Defects Maintenance Strategy covers various maintenance types, such as preventive, corrective, and predictive, and guides participants in crafting tailored strategies to enhance building performance and longevity. The second syllabus, Prescriptive Solutions & Decision Making, focuses on evaluation methods to implement and maintain effective solutions for defects, emphasizing strategic decision-making for long-term sustainability.

Learning Outcomes:

1) Understand Maintenance Types and Strategies. Participants will be able to identify and
differentiate between various maintenance types (preventive, corrective, and predictive) and develop appropriate strategies for managing building defects.
2) Design Effective Maintenance Plans. Learners will gain the skills to design and implement maintenance strategies that optimize building performance, enhance longevity, and ensure cost-effective operations.
3) Evaluate Building Defects. Participants will demonstrate the ability to evaluate building
