lSI offers a dynamic platform for truly multidisciplinary and expert consultation on the complete implementation of project services. This encompasses research and inception.acquisition and planning, marketing and capacity building, project procurement, on-site implementation and construction as well as and facilities and life-cycle management. It conveniently serves as a single-point enabler of wide-ranging tangible initiatives through direct access to the network repository of highly skilled and expert members of UTM research, learning and consultancy fraternity. Thus, lSI offers the right and dynamic set-up that best fit your procurement needs and requirements in projects and many other forms of endeavours.

Our consultancy portfolio comprises of a myriad of projects and Installations on the urban and built environment. the most recent being the proposed design and physical development of the Tanjung Pelepas Ecological Park (TPEP) through a build-operate-transfer (BOT) plan and the refurbishment package of Community Colleges throughout the country under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) Initiatives (2017). lSI also thrives on engineering research consultancy, especially in the form of Hydrodynamic Simulation Project for the Port of Tanjung Pelepas and proposed Establishment of Johor Port Authority (Tanjung Pelepas) Marine Data Centre (MDC). Other recent exemplary areas of consultancy include Policy formulation on Open Data for the Melaka State Government, an outcome of the Newton Ungku Omar international grant, lSI & UK Future Cities Catapult (FCC) in 2016, and the  2017 1ndeks Syariah Malaysia (ISM) (Facilities and Environment- Phase 2).

Spatial research and expertise at lSI offer clients, users and stakeholders productive outcomes through the effective utilization of software, methods, applications and instruments that generate vital metrics in the form of physical connectivity, social conditions, productivity, movement and transportation, environmental comfort, governance and economic wellbeing. These serve the purposes of measuring and analyzing interactions and mobility between humans and their environment.

Applications like Space Syntax. Urban Network Analysis (UNA). Crowd simulation and other intelligent and smart tools of research and simulation aid the effective problem-solution formulation. measurement. analysis. decision-making. action and monitoring for any given problem and situation particularly in the context of Urban and Constructed Environments. Spatial research analysis may allow us to configure conducive workspaces and ecosystems in relation to issues like social interaction.accessibility. connectivity.and economic viability. It further facilitates effective planning and design of spaces, transportation hubs.habitat and workplaces that ensure better living and working conditions form the perspectives of sustainable cities and resilient ecosystems.

For lSI, such efforts and methods recently broke new grounds with initiatives such as the research and study of Malaysia's 'Great Streets' of Jalan Ampang (Kuala Lumpur), Sungai Segget (Johor Bahru) and the Tanjung Pelepas Ecological Park (TPEP) proposal for Johor Port Authority.

Due to rapid development in the Information and Data Sciences and their integrative application in the decision making.construction and management of urban habitat and environment. lSI is increasingly serving clients and users who may desire intelligent research into information retrieval and subsequent data analytics. Such an effort helps clients. users and stakeholders draw meanings and conclusions from the information derived from data sets. New technologies and techniques and specialized systems and software significantly augment organizations to make more-informed business decisions. It also provides fundamental intelligent support in validating urban initiatives and built environment projects through spatial data measurement.analysis and metrics through evidence-based development

This sector is an area of primary importance as it draws parallel to the development of SMART City Initiatives and their prospective implementation. A more recent and specific contribution on the subject matter by lSI could be found in its implementation of the Hydrodynamic simulation project at Tanjung  Pelepas (Johor) for the Johor Port Authority and the proposed setting up of the Marine Data Centre for Jabatan Laut (Port Klang).

lSI is a full participant in the comprehensive drive towards sustainability in the urban development and built environment. It works on Sustainability as a key factor in formulating business models for clients, users and stakeholders, thereby laying the foundation for the creation of specific management set-up, instruments and tools for the independent running and financing of desired projects. One good example is the proposed Tanjung  Pelepas Ecological Park (TPEP), which are a project located within a stipulated mangrove protection and preservation area and one that must not only be realized in built form but also crucially and simultaneously serves as 'Special Purpose Vehicle' (SPV) for environmental monitoring (station), ecological training (centre), an incubator for research and venue for capacity-building by local NGOs and communities. Such details are provided for by lSI as part of its consultancy service for the project.

lSI's key contributions toward the publication of the 2011 'Low Carbon Cities Framework and Assessment System' (LCCF) bodes well on the future direction of sustainability programmes in Malaysia, particularly on the green urban development. transportation and townships. lSI is also currently the host and secretariat for the prestigious MIT-UTM Malaysia Sustainable Cities Program (MSCP), whose aim is to promote the scholarly participation and contribution the academia in real sustainable projects throughout the world.

Knowledge transfer is a process that supports effective collaborations and synergy between businesses. industry, the public sector and learning institutions.
