ISI in collaboration with Department of Architecture, Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia hosted 13 students and 2 faculty member from Kansas University, Lawrence, United States of America from 3 January 2013 to 17 January 2013 for a field study. This is part of a Kansas University Study Abroad program and adopted a theme ‘Two–Week Field Study: Experiencing Multicultural Malaysia through Architecture’. Itinerary of the visit covers 7 states in both West and East Coast regions, particularly Nusajaya in Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya, Perak, Terengganu and Melaka. Excursion to the variety of award winnings architecture is included in the visit. Most importantly, they conducted a study on how to revitalize a traditional urban quarter in Kuala Terengganu. This was a collaborative study undertook by Kansas University students and UTM architecture students as part of this collaboration.
